50 Years In Exile

Today, March 10, is the 50th anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising, the largest demonstration in the history of Tibet.  The demonstrators in 1959 were protesting the Chinese occupation of Tibet.  The uprising was brutally crushed by the Chinese Army.

The 14th Dalai Lama escaped to India and has been living in exile for 50 years.  Despite being unable to return to his home, the Dalai Lama has continued to promote compassion and non-violence.
