Michael J. Fox – Incurable Optimist

By Tim McLaughlin

I find it impressive when I see someone facing a difficult challenge but finding a way to turn that challenge around.

Michael J. Fox is one of those people.  Diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease 18 years ago, Fox remains positive and optimistic.

He’s written a new book called Always Looking Up: The Adventures of an Incurable Optimist and is making the rounds of the TV talk shows.  He’ll also be hosting a TV show about happiness in May.

USA Today has an interesting article about Fox: Michael J. Fox keeps looking on the bright side that includes a list of 5 things that make him optimistic.

Folks like Michael J. Fox show us that despite the problems that crop up in our lives, we can overcome the challenges.  It starts with deciding not to be defined by the problem, but instead realizing that we are bigger than the problem.

To your happiness!

  1. You reminded me of my favourite teenage pastimes-watching sitcoms, and “Family Ties” was my favourite back then, and of course Michael J.Fox. Michael is always a role model, from young till now…

  2. I used to watch that show as well, and of course the “Back to the Future” movies were great. And you’re right, he’s definitely a role model now. Thanks for stopping by and for your comment. Please drop by often.
