Happy Food?

By Tim McLaughlin

Generally, it’s probably not a good idea to try to find happiness in eating.  Now I’m not saying you shouldn’t enjoy your meal.  But many of us use food to make ourselves feel better when we’re sad or having a bad day.  A little bit of that indulgence is okay, but it really becomes a problem if it’s something you do frequently.

Here’s an article, though, that says eating foods with tryptophan can brighten your mood and help you sleep better.

Now I can’t say for sure if increasing your tryptophan level will make you feel better.  But it’s an amino acid that’s found in turkey, and, well, I sure feel pretty good after Thanksgiving dinner.

To your happiness!
